Cory holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada, but turned to computing shortly after realizing his passion wasn’t in that field. However, the analytical training aided him in his successful completion of a one-year program at the Information Technology Institute in Canada. Prior to joining WhippleHill as an applications developer in 2001, he worked at the Cambridge, Mass., consulting firm iXL as a software engineer and then moved on to the nearby Channelware Software, where he got his first taste of the nuances of integration. When WhippleHill decided to open up its API, Cory was part of the team who worked on its development, which he feels is a natural segue. WhippleHill’s only Canadian-born head keeps a close eye on Web 2.0 developments at other companies, in and outside the educational sphere.
